It was the turn of the German artist Tobias Juretzek to work in duet with the Normandy brand, Saint James. The result: a sailor chair made from the famous nautical t-shirt Saint James for the seat and jeans for the feet. To do this, the clothes were soaked with resin, positioned in the shuttering of the chair and then manually removed from the mold after drying (see video below).
The surprizing chair echoes the current focus on sustainability. For the german designer it is important to give new life to objects which are unconscious memory capsules. Give a breath of modernity to used to revive the past.
And guess where you can admire two of these numbered artworks in limited edition? At Jourdain!
The chair above is made with the Naval nautical t-shirt.
